How is this for a definition of baptism? “Baptism is our confession of faith in Christ through which we are saved by the grace of God.”
(This is an attempt to define baptism as the NT church understood it–not as a sacrament in which the physical act confers grace even upon those who may not yet be capable of faith, nor as an ordinance which presents baptism as a mere symbol of a prior conversion event, but as an inseparable dimension of the moment of our first saving faith-repentance-confession-regeneration
