Hello friends! Last week I shared a post announcing that my website has been rebuilt. Unfortunately, blog subscribers did not receive any email notification—at least not until several days later, and then it was a scrambled mess.

Here's take two. I'm writing this on Thursday night and hoping emails go out properly at about 6:30 tomorrow morning.

If you haven't read it yet, please take a look at my post "Welcome to DGO 2.0!" It will help you navigate this new website and explain how it came to be.

I'll keep this test post short,  but just a few more thoughts:

  1. If you subscribed to DGO years ago and decide now is a good time to unsubscribe, I won't be offended. Just contact me and ask to be removed from my list. You don't even have to say why, but if you do, please put your explanation in a sonnet form. (Hopefully soon we'll have a way this can be done automatically. The unsubscribe part, I mean. You're on your own with the sonnet.)
  2. I'm hoping to share some short exegetical or inspirational posts in coming days. Here are a few blog titles that are simmering:
"How Is the Word of God Living and Active?"
"Zeal for Your House Will Consume Me"
"Follow Me, But Don't Quit Fishing Just Yet!"
  3. There are a lot of controversies swirling these days (when aren't there?). If we find ourselves confused or angered by things like the American election or XY athletes competing in women's sports or Megan Basham's bombshell book Shepherds for Sale, let's take a deep breath.

First, let's remember that there are almost always more facts about such topics that we don't know than facts that we do know. We aren't God.

Second, let's remember that we really aren't responsible before God to solve most such problems. Let's deal with our own problems.

Thirdly, let's remember that the loudest voices aren't always the most trustworthy or helpful voices. Sometimes they're just the ones born closest to the microphone or having the most motivation (good or bad) to reach it. Listen through the noise for the pure tones of truth and love. Listen for the voice of the Good Shepherd.

That's it for now. Remember, if you want to know more about Dwight Gingrich Online 2.0, read last week's post. Warm thanks to those of you who already did so and sent comments or messages of encouragement.

Until next time, God bless.
Dwight
